Reports indicate that Ellen DeGeneres’ new overseas residence is currently submerged. Flooding has severely impacted the former host of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” as her mansion in the Cotswolds, England, has been engulfed by rising waters in the area.
A local resident shared with the Daily Mail on Saturday, “The flood waters are rising by the hour. This is the worst I have seen it in years.” As reported by the outlet, the 66-year-old comedian’s 43-acre property, which she shares with her wife Portia De Rossi, is now encircled by a swamp-like lake due to days of heavy rain and wind gusts reaching 80 mph.

Page Six has attempted to contact DeGeneres’ representatives for a response but has yet to receive a reply. Neither she nor De Rossi, who is 51, have mentioned the severe weather on their social media accounts. According to sources, DeGeneres decided to move abroad because she wanted to “get the hell out” of the United States following Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election.
Previously, a source informed TMZ that both DeGeneres and De Rossi felt “very disillusioned” by the election outcome and chose to settle in the UK, where they reportedly purchased their home before the election took place. Page Six was unable to locate any recent comments from DeGeneres regarding her reasons for leaving the U.S.
However, she had been a prominent supporter of Kamala Harris in the lead-up to Election Day. In an Instagram post from August, DeGeneres expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “There’s nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come!! I can’t wait for @KamalaHarris to be our next president.”
Before relocating, DeGeneres and De Rossi primarily resided in California, where they also faced significant flooding issues before leaving the country. Following her 2020 workplace scandal, the former talk show host experienced some distancing from Hollywood.
In September, she humorously acknowledged her fall from grace in the entertainment industry during her new Netflix special, which ultimately underperformed and received criticism. Since moving to the UK, DeGeneres appears to be embracing a more understated lifestyle. Recently, she was seen with a new brunette hairstyle while visiting a pub in England.
