Elton John recently revealed that, despite facing vision challenges, he considers his health to be excellent. These difficulties include losing sight in one eye and ongoing complications with the other.
During an appearance on Good Morning America alongside his husband, David Furnish, the legendary musician spoke about his health. He shared that biannual blood tests in Los Angeles show he and Furnish are in good health. However, he disclosed that he has been unable to see out of his right eye for four months, while his left eye, though still impaired, has some potential for recovery.
Elton reveals ongoing recovery efforts for his impaired eyesight
He expressed cautious optimism regarding his left eye, stating that efforts are being made to improve its condition, though progress has been slow. Acknowledging the challenges, John emphasized his commitment to staying focused on healing and recovery.
Back in September, John had addressed his vision issues publicly, explaining that a severe eye infection over the summer led to his current struggles. He noted that while the healing process is ongoing, restoring full vision will require time and patience.
Speaking at a charity gala for The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical in London, John candidly admitted that he can no longer see the performances. Instead, he focuses on enjoying the music and praised his husband for his unwavering support throughout this ordeal.
Despite his vision difficulties, John expressed pride in the musical’s score, which he composed, and shared how its sound continues to bring him joy, even as his ability to visually engage with the show is limited.
