Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia has openly criticized Zach Bryan’s manager for comments made about her relationship with the singer. During an appearance on Alix Earle’s “Hot Mess” podcast, LaPaglia recounted a conversation with a member of Bryan’s team who claimed she was “the only one” capable of helping her then-boyfriend. “I remember standing in our backyard when something dramatic occurred,” the 25-year-old said.
LaPaglia detailed that during her discussion with Bryan’s manager, he allegedly stated, “He’s going to change because you can expose him. You’re the only one who has the power to change him.” The manager purportedly continued, insisting, “You’re the only one that can fix him. You’re the only one who can speak out on him.”
At the time, LaPaglia found the manager’s comments “f–king weird.” She reflected, “After that, I started to question everything. Did he love me, or is he just worried I’ll say something? Shouldn’t he want to improve for himself and our relationship, not just out of fear?”
She expressed strong disapproval of the entire situation, calling Bryan’s team “f–ked in the head” and “twisted.” Requests for comments from Bryan’s manager and representatives have yet to be addressed by Page Six.
Following the manager’s remarks, LaPaglia felt compelled to confide in her family about the emotional abuse she experienced, which she made public last month after their breakup in October.
She recalled feeling “checked out” after her aunt expressed concern, stating, “This isn’t going to change. He’s going to ruin your life. I don’t even recognize you anymore. I love you, stay as long as you want, but I don’t know who you are anymore.”
During the podcast, LaPaglia also admitted feeling “beat down” and “embarrassed” to share what was happening with Bryan, 28, because she intended to stay with him despite the turmoil. She explained, “When you know you’re going back into that toxic cycle, it’s almost more embarrassing to confide in friends, knowing you’ll just return to him.”
“I thought, ‘I can’t keep telling them this because I’ll bring him to Thanksgiving,’” she continued. “By opening up, you’re humiliating your partner and yourself.” LaPaglia and Bryan began their relationship last year, with the country singer allegedly “blindsiding” his ex by announcing their breakup on social media.
Following the split, LaPaglia accused the Grammy winner of offering her $12 million to sign a non-disclosure agreement, asserting he had done the same with his previous partners, Rose Madden and Peifer.
The songwriter has not publicly addressed the allegations of abuse and has only shared a cryptic Instagram Story quote from Jack Kerouac about uncertainty in communication.
