Kajol is all set to mark her debut on the popular digital streaming platform Netflix with Tribhanga. With loads of fresh announcements doing the rounds in the entertainment industry, we have yet another film added to our watchlist titled Tribhanga. Directed by Renuka Sahane, the film features Kajol, Mithila Palkar, and Tanvi Azmi in lead roles. The film is produced by Ajay Devgan and will start streaming on Netflix from 15 January 2020.
A 30-second teaser clip was dropped on 1 January 2021 by the official channel of Netflix India on YouTube. The clip, however, doesn’t manage to reveal much about the plot, thus maintaining a sense of excitement and suspense towards the project. The teaser opens up to a glimpse of Kajol, Tanvi Azmi, and a curly-haired little girl, sitting and smiling together. Keeping in mind the lead cast, we assume the curly-haired girl to be young Mithila’s character, who is Kajol’s daughter, and Tanvi being Kajol’s mother in the film. So as per the assumptions, the film might revolve around the three generations depicted by the leading ladies.
Next, we see Kajol draped in a blue Odissi saree and dressed like a classical performer. Then we see glimpses of all the leading ladies in slides, where Tanvi seems like a working woman. There’s one thing common in the slides, and that being the expression of misery and pain they each carry. Suddenly, Kajol is seen caressing a picture while Tanvi seems to be traumatized by an incident and is admitted to a hospital. Kajol and Mithila are present with her and are worried about her situation. The teaser, however, didn’t unveil the plot. Still, we can assume the film to be a female-centric family drama that depicts the delicacy of relationships that stay the same throughout years and generations.
The leading ladies of the film shared the teaser on their respective social media handles. Apart from them, the director of the film Renuka Shahane tagged the team of Tribhanga on her Twitter account and thanked the main cast of the film. She revealed the names of the character as Anu, Nayan, and Masha, played by Kajol, Tanvi, and Mithila, respectively. She says that the three ladies have given their flesh, blood, vulnerability, strength, and tears to their characters. She addresses the three women as the film’s heart and soul and thanks them for the contribution and hard work they have put in.
The film will mark the digital debut of Kajol, who has been staying away from the entertainment industry for quite a lot of time. She was last seen in Tanhaji, opposite Ajay Devgan, and a short film titled ‘Devi’ that gathered her immediate love and appreciation. Apart from her, we’ll see Mithila Palkar returning back to Netflix after previously being a part of Little Things and Chopsticks that are a part of the Netflix family. Tanvi Azmi was last seen in Thappad, and it would be great to see the female leads ruling on the screens together. Produced by Ajay Devgan, Tribhanga will hit the screens on 15 January 2021 on Netflix.
