Brittany Mahomes wants to make it clear that she doesn’t need unsolicited opinions about her life. During an appearance on the WHOOP podcast, the 28-year-old discussed the advice her husband, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, gave her regarding life in the spotlight.
“The main thing he’s always told me is to stop caring about what people think, especially those who don’t even know you,” Brittany shared, admitting that social media used to affect her deeply. Since embracing her husband’s guidance, the Kansas City Current co-owner — who recently faced backlash for allegedly liking an Instagram post from Donald Trump — now confidently declares, “Honestly, I don’t give a f— what people say about me anymore.”
Brittany credited Patrick for helping her build that confidence, saying, “He’s helped me get to a place where I’m strong in who I am, confident in myself, our relationship, and our life.”
She also believes their strong bond comes from growing together through challenges, especially when Patrick’s rise to fame occurred after they began dating in high school. Brittany noted that his background helped him adjust to the public eye better than she did. “He’s much better at it than I am,” she said, referencing Patrick’s father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., who was a professional baseball player.
Recently, Brittany has been vocal on social media, responding to critics after reports surfaced that she had liked Trump’s post. She shared an Instagram story on Aug. 24, saying, “To be a hater as an adult, you must have unresolved childhood issues. There’s no reason for a fully developed brain to hate seeing others do well.” She ended the post with, “I mean honestly.”
On Aug. 27, Brittany posted another story emphasizing the importance of respect despite differing opinions, stating, “You can disagree with someone and still love them. You can have different views and still be kind.” She added a reminder, “Read that again!”
