The longstanding feud between Kanye West and Taylor Swift, ignited 15 years ago at the VMAs, shows no signs of resolution. On Thursday, Swift’s album, The Tortured Poets Department, prevented West’s latest release, Vultures 2, from topping the Billboard 200 chart. In response, Swift briefly released a live version of her song “thanK you aIMee,” rebranded as “thank You aimEe.”
To casual observers, this alteration might seem minor, but for devoted Swift fans, it’s serious. The original version, released in April, features capitalized letters that spell out “Kim,” a nod to Kim Kardashian’s controversial role in the Swift-West drama.
The revised title capitalizes “Y” and “E,” subtly spelling out “Ye,” West’s moniker. Although the updated live version, which includes a mashup with her 2010 hit “Mean,” was available online for just a few hours, it was enough for fans to capture and circulate it widely.
Meanwhile, West continues to stoke the flames of their rivalry. On the track “Lifestyle (Demo)” from Vultures 2, Lil Wayne raps, “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce,” further inflaming the situation.
In a related note, shortly after the release of Vultures 2, Swift performed in Poland wearing her “I Bet You Think About Me” t-shirt—a choice that some fans interpreted as a subtle jab at West. Given the persistent drama, it seems this saga is far from over.
