On Thursday, Leah Remini and her husband, Angelo Pagán, who is both a performer and restaurateur, revealed in a shared Instagram post that they are ending their marriage after more than two decades together.
Acknowledging the difficulty of divorce, they conveyed a positive outlook, stating, “While this process is hard, we’re approaching it with optimism,” and highlighting their pride in how they’ve sail through the situation together. They expressed a commitment to remaining connected in certain aspects while also embracing new separations.
The pair’s relationship began in 1996 when they crossed paths at a Cuban club in L.A., where Pagán was performing. They married in 2003 and welcomed their daughter, Sofia Bella, a year later—Pagán also has three sons from a previous relationship. After initially becoming involved in the Church of Scientology when they first started dating, Pagán eventually left the church alongside Remini and her mother in 2013, standing by Remini as she became a staunch critic of Scientology.
During their time together, Pagán made several appearances on Remini’s popular sitcom, The King of Queens, and was prominently featured in reality TV specials that offered an inside look at their family life. This included VH1’s coverage of their wedding and Sofia Bella’s birth in the early 2000s, as well as their 2014 TLC reality series, Leah Remini: It’s All Relative, which ran for two seasons and provided a deeper look into their everyday lives.
Reflecting on their public journey, the couple noted, “We hope to provide more visibility into various relationship experiences, helping others feel less isolated as they sail across similar transitions.” They intend to keep sharing parts of their lives as they move forward into this new chapter.
