After debuting her first solo documentary in 2023, Christine McGuinness has been actively advancing her individual career. Recently, she participated in Celebrity MasterChef but was eliminated, a result she expressed feeling “relieved” about. Following her separation from Paddy McGuinness, Christine has not only focused on her professional endeavors but has also reentered the dating scene.
On August 27, during an appearance on the talk show Loose Women, the 36-year-old revealed she had begun a new relationship, though she remained discreet about the details. When questioned about a potential partner, Christine enthusiastically confirmed, “I am dating again. I am dating!” adding, “With terms and conditions. But the number one rule – I’m not doing the cooking.”
She further explained that her new relationship accommodates her autism diagnosis, which she received in 2021, and her sensitivity to certain foods. “We communicated extensively before our first date, and I made it clear that dining out wasn’t an option,” she shared. She concluded with excitement, stating, “It’s new, it’s exciting, it’s nice – that’s all I want to say!”
Christine and Paddy ended their marriage in 2022 after over a decade together and three children. Their joint statement emphasized their commitment to co-parenting and maintaining a loving family environment despite their separation. They requested privacy to avoid further public intrusion, highlighting their desire to focus on their children’s well-being.
Previously, on ITV’s Lorraine, Christine discussed the challenges of a long-term marriage, noting, “Marriages go through ups and downs, especially long ones like ours. We’re handling things privately and prioritizing our children’s happiness.” The couple met in 2007 at a Liverpool Tennis Tournament where Christine was modeling. Their relationship blossomed, leading to a 2009 Christmas proposal and a 2011 wedding at Thornton Manor Estate, attended by comedian Peter Kay and friends.
In her memoir, A Beautiful Nightmare, Christine reflected on their life in Cheshire and the difficulties she faced, including feeling isolated in Bolton and dealing with Paddy’s work-related absences. Her documentary, Christine McGuinness: Unmasking My Autism, aired in March 2023, where she candidly discussed her struggles within the marriage, her desire for stability, and the realization that change was necessary for her well-being. She emphasized the importance of balancing motherhood with personal growth, moving beyond her earlier need for perfection in her roles as wife and mother.
