Winona Ryder and her long-term partner Scott Mackinlay Hahn made a stylish appearance at the Venice Film Festival. The 52-year-old actress and fashion designer Hahn, who co-founded the sustainable brand Loomstate, were seen hand-in-hand on the red carpet for the world premiere of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. This sequel to Ryder’s 1988 film, directed by Tim Burton, was highly anticipated.
Ryder opted for a striking black floor-length gown, complemented by a matching overcoat, vest, and a white shirt adorned with a black bow tie. Hahn, on the other hand, chose a classic black-and-white tuxedo for the occasion.
Their relationship began at the premiere of Ryder’s 2010 film Black Swan. In a 2022 interview with Harper’s BAZAAR, Ryder recounted how Hahn initially mistook her for Milla Jovovich and complimented her on The Fifth Element during their first encounter.
Although the couple has been together for years, they have maintained a low profile. They made their first red carpet appearance as a pair at the premiere of Stranger Things season 1 in July 2016. Ryder expressed her deep connection with Hahn, noting their shared interests and the uniqueness of having a partner outside the entertainment industry. She mentioned to Harper’s BAZAAR in July 2024, “He’s so great. He really is. I’m really lucky.”
At the Venice Film Festival, Ryder and Hahn joined a star-studded lineup, including Burton, Michael Keaton, Jenna Ortega, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux, Willem Dafoe, and Monica Bellucci, for the premiere of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The film is set to hit theaters on September 6.
