Demi Lovato is experiencing a sense of déjà vu. On August 27, the “Skyscraper” artist, who identifies with she/they pronouns, shared a video of herself preparing Marry Me Chicken for her fiancé, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes. The meal turned out to be so delightful that Jutes ended up proposing once more.
“I said yes! 💍 Up next on ✨Cooking with Demi✨ is one of my favorites – Marry Me Chicken. Recipe by @littlesunnykitchen and a special guest appearance by @jutesmusic 👀🖤,” Lovato wrote in the post. In the clip, Lovato began by introducing the dish, sourced from the Little Sunny Kitchen blog, as one of her top choices.

“Today we’re making Marry Me Chicken! It’s one of my favorite recipes, and it must have worked because I’m getting married!” she exclaimed while flashing her beautiful engagement ring. Lovato then got started, slicing three chicken breasts into thin cutlets and seasoning them with salt and pepper.
Everything was going smoothly until the oil and butter she used for searing the chicken began to burn. “Oh no! Did I burn it?” she said with a laugh. Undeterred by the small mishap, she replaced the ingredients and continued. To finish the dish, she added garlic, chicken broth, heavy cream, assorted seasonings, and sundried tomatoes.
After the Marry Me Chicken was complete, she served it to an eager Jutes. Upon tasting it, he exclaimed, “Baby, this is incredible!” Amazed by Lovato’s cooking, Jutes pulled out a ring box and dropped to one knee. “Will you marry me?” he asked her once again.
With playful enthusiasm, Lovato swooned before the two sealed the moment with a kiss. “She said yes!” Jutes quipped with a smile. The duo originally became engaged back in December, with Jutes presenting Lovato a custom pear-shaped diamond solitaire engagement ring, crafted by the NYC jewelry boutique Material Good.
After the “personal and intimate” proposal, the couple celebrated their engagement at Craig’s, one of their preferred restaurants in Los Angeles, accompanied by their families. On August 20, Jutes posted a touching message to Lovato in honor of her 32nd birthday.
“Happy birthday to the love of my life. You bring joy and love to everyone you meet, and you deserve the very same in return,” he wrote. He also shared his anticipation for their upcoming wedding. “P.S. I can’t wait to marry your gorgeous self,” he added with a playful tone.
