Mary Bonnet opened up about her romantic experiences in her memoir, sharing stories about a past relationship with an anonymous MLB player and describing her tumultuous marriage. The 44-year-old Selling Sunset star told Us Weekly that she altered the names of her former partners in Selling Sunshine: Surviving Teenage Motherhood, Thriving in Luxury Real Estate, and Finally Finding My Voice. “I changed the names of everyone,” Bonnet said.
She explained that she did not want to reveal anyone’s true identity to avoid causing harm. “I’m just sharing my story,” she emphasized. In the memoir, she recalls a brief relationship with a baseball player, whom she believed was in the process of a divorce. However, after seeing his wife in the crowd during one of his televised games, she ended the relationship.

“I refused to be the other woman,” Bonnet wrote. She also opened up about a brief romance with LFO’s Brad Fischetti and shared details of her second marriage in the book. In 2008, Bonnet met the man she referred to as “Drew” in her memoir. The relationship progressed quickly, with the couple getting engaged within a year and tying the knot six months later.
Reflecting on their marriage, Bonnet revealed that she was careful not to damage his reputation because many people were unaware of how difficult things were. “I kept it all quiet,” she told Us. However, she wanted to share her story to help other women who find themselves stuck in toxic relationships, often hearing, “I’ll probably take him back” or “He promised he wouldn’t do it again.” She warned that situations tend to worsen over time.
Bonnet also disclosed that she became pregnant with twins during their marriage, but tragically suffered a miscarriage.
“We went through in vitro and became pregnant with twin girls,” Bonnet shared with Us. “I lost the first one at six or seven weeks, and the second just before 10 weeks. It’s something you move through and accept.” She finds solace in believing that everything happens for a reason, noting that she could have still been tied to her ex, and she can’t imagine what that would have been like for the girls. Bonnet tries to find the silver lining in such hardships.
After a series of ups and downs in her relationships, Bonnet finally found lasting happiness with her current husband, Romain Bonnet, whom she married in 2018. “He treats every woman with respect,” she said lovingly. “There’s nothing in him that could ever hurt me. He’s stubborn, but he’s consistent and loving. He’s my rock.”
