David Duchovny seems to be enjoying his time in New York City. On Saturday, September 7, the 64-year-old actor from The X-Files was spotted strolling through the city with Monique Pendleberry. Duchovny opted for a relaxed look with an open button-down shirt over a black skull-graphic T-shirt, paired with jeans. His glasses were draped around his neck, and he completed the outfit with white Adidas sneakers.
Pendleberry, age 31, complimented him in a black top and blazer, coupled with jeans and black booties. The couple is seldom seen together in public. Their previous outings include a Los Angeles Lakers game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Crypto.com Arena in January and walking the red carpet together at the premiere of Duchovny’s Netflix film You People and the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival.
Dating rumors between them began in 2017. Duchovny’s former marriage to actress Téa Leoni, with whom he has two children—daughter West and son Kyd—lasted from 1997 to 2014, with their separation occurring in 2008. Leoni began a relationship with her Madame Secretary co-star Tim Daly in 2014, and they remain together.
Reflecting on his parenting in an interview with PEOPLE in June 2024, Duchovny expressed feelings of inadequacy due to his demanding career. “I might not have been a perfect parent, but my kids are wonderful people. They probably prefer to see me as a good parent rather than a failure,” he said.
Duchovny acknowledged his extensive work schedule while raising his children but takes pride in managing both his career and family. “Working so much when my kids were young is something I might have altered, but it also provided a role model of someone actively engaged in their life,” he explained. “There isn’t just one right way to parent.”
He concluded, “I don’t have the experience of a different path, only the one I chose. I’m not a perfect parent, but my love for my kids is immense.”
