Nina Dobrev has given Shaun White’s birthday celebrations a distinctive Western twist! On September 7, the actress shared photos from her Olympic boyfriend’s 38th birthday party. Dobrev, 35, captioned the Instagram post, “Montana celebrating Shauntana aka @shaunwhite 🤠.” The images showcased their themed attire complete with cowboy boots and hats, a decadent chocolate cake, and a tender moment where the couple kissed by a rustic wooden fence.
White also shared his own set of photos and videos from the celebration on Instagram, highlighting activities like lasso tricks and axe-throwing, under the caption “Gone country 🤠.” Reflecting on the challenge of selecting the right photos for White’s birthday, Dobrev wrote on September 3, “It’s incredibly difficult to sift through years of memories to pick out the best photos for a birthday post.”

The pair initially crossed paths at an awards show in late 2012, but it wasn’t until 2019 that they truly connected over a dinner. They made their relationship official on Instagram during the COVID-19 pandemic with a humorous video and have been together since.
White’s birthday bash with a Western theme comes after a difficult period for Dobrev, who suffered severe injuries in a dirt bike accident in May. She sustained tears to her ACL and meniscus, along with a fracture in her tibial plateau.
These injuries required successful surgery and extensive physical therapy. By late July, Dobrev had begun walking without crutches and shared a comprehensive recovery update on Instagram. Shortly after, she informed PEOPLE that she was progressing “a little ahead of schedule” in her recovery, though she acknowledged that it remained “a very long process.”
