The Saltburn stars have reunited once more! Jacob Elordi and Barry Keoghan, the leads of the 2023 provocative dramedy, came together on the red carpet at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival while promoting their individual projects.
On Saturday, Sept. 7, the 27-year-old Euphoria star and the 31-year-old Banshees of Inisherin actor shared a moment reminiscent of their playful chemistry during Saltburn promotions, posing together at Variety’s TIFF Step & Repeat event.
Both actors wore similar button-up shirts, with Elordi flashing a smile and draping his arm around Keoghan, who playfully showed a peace sign for the cameras. Later that same day, Elordi attended the premiere of his new film On Swift Horses, posing alongside his co-stars Daniel Minahan, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Sasha Calle, Diego Calva, and Will Poulter.
Keoghan, on the other hand, appeared at the premiere of his drama film Bird, where he was joined by castmate Nykiya Adams.
Saltburn, which tells the story of Oliver (Keoghan) spending the 2007 summer holiday at the extravagant family estate of his Oxford classmate Felix (Elordi), quickly gained pop-culture buzz due to its risqué scenes and the creative direction of writer-director Emerald Fennell.
After its November 2023 release, Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s track “Murder on the Dancefloor,” featured prominently in the movie, saw a resurgence in popularity. Additionally, a candle inspired by one of Elordi’s explicit scenes became a viral sensation. The candles, which reference Felix’s bathtub scene where he engages in solo intimacy before Oliver drinks the bathwater, caught the attention of both actors.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Elordi discussed the viral candle with Jimmy Fallon, joking, “I wanna know who’s profiting from this. My first thought was, ‘Where’s my cut?’” After testing the scent, he added, “It smells like a laundry room. Like detergent.” Keoghan also chimed in on the candle craze, telling Variety that he already owned ten of them. “They’re burning at my house as we speak,” he quipped.
Their on-set bond was evident, with Keoghan previously telling GQ that Elordi felt like a brother to him. He also touched on their off-screen flirtatious dynamic, including an almost kiss at a red carpet event, saying, “We were always close. It’s not just for the cameras or premieres.”
Keoghan went on to explain that when actors are comfortable with each other, they can be as close as they want, adding, “We’re just being lads. After filming a movie where we had to kiss, you have to be okay with yourself and each other.”
