Ewan McGregor delighted fans on Thursday when he brought his beautiful family to his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, celebrating his successful career. Accompanied by three of his daughters, his son Laurie, and his wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the Star Wars star made it a family affair.
The actor has four children—Clara, 28, Esther, 22, Jamyan, 22, and Anouk, 13—whom he shares with his ex-wife Eve Mavrakis, whom he met while filming the TV drama Kavanagh QC in the ’90s. At 53, McGregor acknowledged all of his children during the event, starting with Clara, his eldest, and expressed his gratitude for their love and support.
Reflecting on working with Clara, he said, “I had the privilege of acting alongside my daughter Clara in a film called Bleeding Love. The title changed, but the experience of playing her father both on and off the screen was unforgettable.”
He shared how working with Clara and watching her passion for acting reignited his inspiration. “Being on set with her filled me with a new sense of energy and desire for the work we do.” Clara, who is a model and actress, has spoken before about how she drew from her real-life relationship with her father to portray family dynamics and struggles with addiction in the film.
Ewan’s second daughter, Esther, was absent from the event due to a filming commitment in Nova Scotia, where she is working on a TV series. Like her father, Esther has also made a name for herself in acting, recently appearing in Obi-Wan Kenobi alongside McGregor in 2022.
The actor then shifted focus to his adopted daughters, Jamyan and Anouk. He adopted Jamyan from Mongolia with Eve in 2004, and Anouk, the youngest, was adopted in 2011 at just four months old.
Ewan praised them, saying, “My two other daughters, Jamyan and Anouk, are here. Anouk is still too young to act, but she’s already an incredible person. I can’t wait to see what path she chooses in life.” As for Jamyan, McGregor shared how proud he is of her chosen career. “Jamyan won’t be joining me on set because she’s set on becoming a homicide detective. We couldn’t be prouder of her and all she’s accomplished.”
McGregor’s youngest child, Laurie, whom he shares with his wife Mary, also made an appearance. Proudly introducing the three-year-old, McGregor encouraged him to wave to the crowd.
The actor, previously married to Eve from 1995 until their split in 2017, reflected on the challenges his family faced after images surfaced of him with Mary. He told GQ that the fallout from his affair and divorce was like “a bomb going off in my children’s lives.” Healing from the situation, he shared, is still a work in progress for the family.
