Devin Strader is reevaluating his actions. After initially posting a video detailing his perspective on his breakup with Jenn Tran—complete with private text screenshots—the 28-year-old subsequently removed and reuploaded a revised version that omitted sensitive content. He issued an apology for the original video, which inadvertently included intimate details.
“I am truly sorry for revealing sensitive information,” he expressed in an Instagram Story on September 10, which has since been deleted. “That was not my intention. My goal was only to share my view of the relationship.”
He further explained, “Showing that text conversation served no purpose for me. I acknowledge it was a mistake.” Admitting that he had tried to obscure private details but missed some, Devin conceded, “I honestly messed up.” He also recognized that his apology might not fully rectify the situation.
“I understand that words can’t fix this,” he added. “However, I assure you there was no intention behind showing that text. I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me.”
Following the release of the edited version of his original 13-minute video, Devin addressed the reasons for the update in the comments, stating, “I am committed to taking responsibility moving forward and moving on with my life. Thank you.”
In the video, Devin responded to various claims Jenn made during the emotional After The Final Rose episode, including her assertion that he ended their relationship over a 15-minute phone call.
While acknowledging the phone conversation took place, Devin claimed he had attempted to meet Jenn in person, but she avoided it due to knowing the conversation’s outcome. “I wasn’t sure what else to do,” he remarked. “She kind of left me with no other option.”
Contrary to Jenn’s assertion that he distanced himself immediately after their time in Hawaii, Devin stated that he began to withdraw weeks after their breakup as part of his effort to move forward. “As difficult as it is to admit, I needed to do this for my own well-being,” he explained. “A relationship involves two people, and both should be held accountable.”
This theme of mutual responsibility was central to Devin’s message. He emphasized that his intention was not to disparage Jenn. “I am not seeking to denounce Jenn or speak negatively about her,” he assured his followers. “My aim is to show that this was a two-sided relationship, and both of us share accountability.”
“To Jenn,” he concluded, “I am truly sorry for how things turned out. I never meant to hurt you, and I regret causing you pain.” The video was released despite criticism following the season finale of The Bachelorette, where Jenn was seen emotional while watching their proposal.
Jenn recently mentioned on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off the Vine podcast that she had attempted to contact Devin post-show to extend her well wishes. However, she stopped after receiving upsetting messages from other women. “After that, I decided to stop,” she said on September 10. “We haven’t spoken since.”
