The details of Leah Remini and Angelo Pagán’s separation are now being finalized. One week following their announcement of divorce after 28 years of marriage, the former couple has officially submitted their divorce papers. Court documents obtained by E! News on September 5 reveal that their separation terms are currently straightforward.
With their daughter Sofia, now 20, being an adult, neither Leah nor Angelo will be seeking child support. Leah has also requested that the court terminate any potential spousal support for both parties. Angelo has agreed to this request, leaving their only remaining issue to be the division of property.
Leah has noted that the status of their separate and community property and assets is still “to be determined,” with plans to submit a list for division. In a joint Instagram statement on August 29, Leah and Angelo shared, “This decision came after a lot of thought and care. And as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it’s what’s best for us.”
Regarding the reasons behind their decision, they stated, “To put it simply, we both changed, as people do, and we got used to playing roles that didn’t fit us anymore. After a lot of effort and consideration, we’ve decided to take this step, which reflects who we are today.”
Despite their separation, the co-parents intend to celebrate future holidays together and maintain family gatherings.
“Our bond is still strong—it’s just evolved into something different,” they concluded. “We think a marriage that lasted this long and created so many beautiful memories, especially raising our incredible daughter, is something to celebrate.”
