Jenn Tran is embracing a new chapter following her recent breakup. During the dramatic season finale of The Bachelorette on September 3, the 26-year-old announced that she and Devin Strader, who had gotten engaged on the show, ended their relationship just two months later.
Jenn disclosed that Devin ended things with a brief 15-minute phone call. However, the day after revealing her heartache to viewers, Jenn’s next move was announced: she will join the cast of Dancing With the Stars for its 33rd season, partnering with professional dancer Sasha Farber.
Expressing her enthusiasm for what lies ahead, Jenn told E! News, “I’m thrilled that it’s over and eager to focus on the future and this exciting new phase of my life. It’s a chance to pursue something I’ve always wanted.” (For more updates on Jenn, catch E! News tonight, September 4, at 11 p.m.)
Reflecting on the emotional experience of revisiting her engagement in Hawaii during the season 21 finale, Jenn acknowledged the difficulty of the process. “It’s definitely been tough,” she said. “I anticipated it would be a challenging night.
Devin had been avoiding my calls, and I hadn’t heard from or seen him in a month. The feelings I had were genuine, so reliving those moments was difficult.” During the live After the Final Rose special, Jenn became emotional as she discussed the end of her relationship with Devin, 28.
“It’s been an incredibly hard few months,” she explained. “We left Hawaii engaged and very happy. It was the happiest day of my life, but things changed once we left. It felt like he was withdrawing, and the plans and promises he made about our future together seemed to fade.” Regarding her motivation for DWTS, Jenn shared on Good Morning America on September 4, “Heartbreak is a powerful driver for success. I’m determined and ready to give it my all.”
