Her divorce from Josh Hall, Christina Hall is sharing valuable insights on financial independence. On September 4, the HGTV star posted a smiling selfie in her car, expressing gratitude to her parents for teaching her about hard work and self-sufficiency.
She captioned the Instagram photo, “Thanks mom & dad for always teaching me about hard work and making sure I knew the importance of making my own money.” Christina also noted, “It doesn’t buy ‘happiness,’ but it does buy more opportunities & fewer people being able to mess with me… and that makes me happy.”
Her reflections on financial self-reliance come over a month after she and Josh filed for divorce following more than two years of marriage. Josh’s filing included a request for spousal support, which Christina contested in her legal response.
Describing her life as centered around her children and career, Christina, who has children Taylor, 13, and Brayden, 8, with ex Tarek El Moussa, and Hudson, 4, with ex Ant Anstead, stated in her July 23 declaration, “It is my understanding that Josh has his own income and therefore should not need any spousal support from me.”
In the court documents, Christina also accused Josh of transferring over $35,000 from her separate property account into his own without her consent. She expressed shock and concern, noting that the transfer occurred on July 8, 2024, the same date Josh now claims as their separation date, despite the actual date being July 7. Christina stated, “This makes me question what else I may not be aware of regarding his financial situation, which is why I am having a full forensic accounting performed for the entire term of our marriage.”
E! News reached out to representatives for both Christina and Josh for comments but did not receive a response. In August, Josh, 43, broke his silence about the breakup, emphasizing his desire for privacy. He wrote on Instagram, “I prefer privacy, especially during something as life-changing as a divorce I did not ask for. I will not publicly badmouth anyone as people have families, friends, and others who respect and love them.”
He added, “Unfortunately, the internet is forever. We are real humans, this is our life, and I am not here to entertain people I don’t know with my private matters. Those details will be handled fairly behind closed doors with our respective counsels in due time. Those who know each of us, know who we are.”
