Kody Brown is pleased to see Christine Brown in a new relationship. The star of Sister Wives shared with PEOPLE that the upcoming season of the TLC series, set to debut on September 15, will showcase the developing romance between his ex-wife and her new partner, David Woolley.
“As we enter season 19, viewers will see Christine falling in love,” Kody reveals. “It’s been a relief for me because now I find myself hoping that the show focuses more on Christine and David than on the rest of us. Their love story is charming.” Christine, who ended her 25-year marriage to Kody in 2021 and has six children with him, married Woolley, 60, in October 2023. Kody, 55, describes Woolley as “a little shy” and says watching their relationship exposed has been an enjoyable experience.
“The whole thing is just endearing and fun,” Kody adds. He reflects on his past relationship with Christine, 52, acknowledging, “We were better friends than lovers. I’m thrilled she’s found this new happiness. Watching it revealed is going to be entertaining—you’ll enjoy seeing Christine’s romance and the playful side of falling in love.”
However, Kody notes that the upcoming season will also include its fair share of drama. “It won’t all be light-hearted,” he warns. Christine went public with her relationship with David in February 2023, got engaged in April, and married him six months later. After the wedding, she told PEOPLE that Woolley is “a phenomenal person to the core” and expressed her joy about their relationship.
“He’s exceptional, and I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot,” Christine said. She contrasted her new, simpler life with Woolley to her previous relationship with Kody, saying, “It’s truly straightforward. I didn’t realize I could have such a simple life with someone. Despite my complexities, he loves me, and that’s the greatest thing.”
