In her relationship with Van Hunt, Halle Berry finds happiness she hasn’t experienced before. The Academy Award-winning actress opened up about her romantic and intimate life, sharing insights into her journey with Hunt, whom she began dating in 2020.
During an interview with Marie Claire, Berry reflected on how deliberate she was in shaping her relationship with Van Hunt to ensure it would last. “I built my career with intention,” she said. “But I wasn’t as purposeful with my past relationships. I used to be more carefree about them.”

She acknowledged that it “took me some time to figure it out,” but now, “the way everything being exposed makes me believe this is it. He’s the one.” Berry was introduced to Van Hunt through his brother, who had known her for years. She shared, “You have to be clear about what you want, or anything will come your way.
As soon as I started understanding myself and the mistakes I was making, Van’s brother approached me and said, ‘You should meet my brother.’” Rather than rushing into a physical connection, Berry and Hunt took their time, growing closer as friends first. “For the first time, I fell in love before any physical intimacy,” she explained. “It was one of the most transformative, beautiful experiences. Absolutely magical.”

Over the years, Berry has had several high-profile relationships, including with David Justice, Eric Benet, Olivier Martinez—whom she married—and Gabriel Aubry. She has two children: Maceo, whom she shares with Martinez, and Nahla, from her relationship with Aubry.
In 2023, Berry finalized her divorce from Martinez after an eight-year legal process. As part of the settlement, she agreed to pay $8,000 per month in child support to Martinez, and they share joint custody of Maceo.
