Though Steve Carell and John Krasinski have left the Dunder Mifflin days behind, the two still find time to share some laughs over coffee. The former Office stars recently reunited while shooting a new commercial for Lavazza.
In a behind-the-scenes clip exclusive to PEOPLE, the duo teams up with Lavazza’s mascot, Luigi the robot, as part of the coffee brand’s “Pleasure Makes Us Human” campaign.
The clip kicks off with Krasinski crouching next to Luigi while Carell joins him, sighing as they exchange a lighthearted moment. Carell asks, “He did it again?” and Krasinski replies, “Poor guy.” The scene soon cuts, and the pair bursts into laughter, breaking character.
Throughout the commercial, the two are seen sipping from Lavazza espresso cups. At one point, Carell playfully imitates Luigi’s robotic voice while taking an exaggerated sip. Encouraging Krasinski to give it a shot, Carell teases him when he declines, calling him “chicken” and sparking more laughter.
One memorable moment comes when Carell picks up an Academy Award statue and jokingly considers using it to stir Krasinski’s coffee, saying, “And I dip it!” Back in April, the duo’s hijinks continued on the set of their upcoming film IF.
Behind-the-scenes footage shows the pair warmly greeting each other, with Carell quipping, “I’m glad we’re getting this on camera. So intimate.” They even humorously re-enacted their reunion for fun.
