Elizabeth Debicki received her first Emmy Award for her portrayal in The Crown. The 33-year-old actress was honored with the outstanding supporting actress in a drama series accolade for her role as Princess Diana in the show’s concluding seasons at the 76th Emmy Awards on September 15.
During her acceptance speech, Debicki expressed, “Playing this part based on this unparalleled, incredible human being has been my great privilege. It has been a gift. Thank you so much.” With The Crown earning a remarkable 18 nominations this year, Debicki considered her win a fitting finale to the show’s journey.

She remarked to PEOPLE, “I was so thrilled that so many of us have been nominated. That just feels like the cherry on the cake, really, of such a nice thing.” Reflecting on the show’s long run, she noted, “It’s just a lovely end to a long and beautiful — but sometimes really challenging — chapter as actors.”
Last year, Debicki received her first Emmy nomination for her role in the fifth season of The Crown. In this year’s awards, The Morning Show had a strong presence with four nominations for its lead actresses: Greta Lee, Holland Taylor, Nicole Beharie, and Karen Pittman.
The Crown also garnered two nods, for Debicki and Lesley Manville, while Christine Baranski represented The Gilded Age. This nomination marks Baranski’s 16th Emmy nod, although she has only won once, in 1995, for her role in Cybil. Her nominations have included Frasier, The Big Bang Theory, and The Good Wife.
The Gilded Age achieved six nominations this year, including outstanding drama series and a nod for Carrie Coon as outstanding leading actress in a drama. Lee secured her first Emmy nomination for her performance as Stella Bak on The Morning Show. The 41-year-old has received high praise from Jennifer Aniston, who described her as “an absolute joy to have on set” and “so great at what she does.”
Aniston is also nominated for outstanding lead actress in a drama series, alongside Reese Witherspoon, with Lee contending in her category along with Taylor, Beharie, and Pittman.
Taylor, 81, was nominated for her role as TV network board president Cybil Richards on The Morning Show. Previously nominated nine times for roles in shows like Hollywood and Two and a Half Men, Taylor was surprised by her latest nomination and expressed her delight at being part of the group.
Manville, a first-time Emmy nominee, joined The Crown as Princess Margaret for its final seasons. At the time of her casting, she expressed her excitement, stating she was “so happy” to take on the role and honored to follow in the footsteps of previous actresses.
Beharie, also a first-time nominee, earned recognition for her role as Christina Hunter on The Morning Show. She shared her excitement on Instagram, praising her fellow nominees and the show.
Pittman, another first-time nominee from The Morning Show, expressed her gratitude and pride in being recognized alongside her colleagues. She described the moment as incredibly humbling and celebrated the collective achievement of the show’s team.
