Jung Hae In, who stars in the romantic comedy Love Next Door alongside Jung So Min, recently took part in an engaging interview with his co-star. During the chat, Hae In made an unexpected revelation, admitting that he is “not sweet to anyone,” a comment that surprised Jung So Min and sparked more speculation about their off-screen relationship.
On September 15, 2024, the lead actors of Love Next Door, Jung Hae In and Jung So Min, appeared on Netflix’s Me Vs. Character for a unique interview.
In this interview, they were asked to rank themselves and their characters—Choi Seung Hyo, Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, and Bae Seok Ryu—based on their “sweetness.” Jung So Min placed Jung Hae In at the top, followed by Choi Seung Hyo, herself, and Bae Seok Ryu. Conversely, Jung Hae In rated Choi Seung Hyo as the sweetest, then Jung So Min, followed by himself, and lastly Bae Seok Ryu.
Jung So Min described Choi Seung Hyo as particularly kind to Bae Seok Ryu, but also noted Jung Hae In’s general attentiveness and sweetness. Hae In humorously responded, “I am not sweet to just anyone,” a statement that quickly captured public attention and added fuel to the rumors about their potential romance.
However, Jung Hae In commented that the character Seung Hyo’s sweetness feels “unreal,” and shared that So Min even questioned whether such a person could exist in real life.
Since its premiere on August 17, 2024, Love Next Door has been airing its episodes and is now entering its second half, with the 10th episode on the horizon. The show follows Choi Seung Hyo and Bae Seok Ryu, childhood friends whose past feelings resurface when they reunite, giving them a chance to explore their emotions and help each other heal.
