Since Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce, Ben Affleck has noticeably slimmed down, despite indulging in comfort food. Now, he’s focusing on gaining muscle, with a particular goal of addressing his “pancake butt.”
“Ben has always been diligent about his workouts, especially cardio and upper body exercises, because he’s concerned about keeping his chest firm and avoiding man boobs,” a source exclusively revealed to In Touch.
“But leg workouts and squats aren’t his thing, so he’s been ignoring his lower body. As a result, his butt has gotten droopy, but he’s finally starting to address it.”

The insider explained that the Gone Girl actor, now 52, has had a change of heart after the divorce, feeling motivated to get in the best shape of his life as he re-enters the dating scene.
“He’s hired a trainer, cut out the junk food, and is phasing out cigarettes,” the source added. “Fixing his rear end is his top physical priority right now! He’s also thinking about getting some new tattoos soon, but that’s a separate issue.” Back in May, In Touch broke the story that Ben and J. Lo, 55, were “headed for divorce” as they approached their second wedding anniversary.
Throughout the summer, the couple fueled speculation by frequently appearing without their wedding rings, and Ben knowingly skipped many of J. Lo’s major public events. However, they did come together for the high school graduation of Ben’s eldest daughter, Violet, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
Despite their personal troubles, their professional partnership hasn’t faltered. Their film Unstoppable—produced by Ben and Matt Damon’s company Artists Equity—premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, with J. Lo starring in the project.
“A lot is riding on Unstoppable for Ben and Matt, even if all signs point to Ben and Jennifer ending their marriage,” a second insider shared with In Touch in early August.
The source continued, “Regardless of their relationship status, Ben is committed to supporting the film. Both he and J. Lo are business-minded, and they’ll prioritize the film’s success, even if their marriage is coming to an end.”
On August 20, J. Lo officially filed for divorce from Ben, listing April 26 as their separation date. Neither party has made a public statement about the split.
J. Lo made her first public appearance since the filing on September 6 at the Unstoppable premiere, wearing a daring revenge dress. Although Ben did not attend, Matt Damon was present and shared a “deep” conversation with Lopez.
A day after the event, an insider told People that Jennifer and Matt “laughed, spoke seriously, and clasped hands during their conversation.”
