Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey’s relationship is anything but conventional. At the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation’s Rock4EB event on September 21, the 38-year-old actress shared with PEOPLE that she and her fiancé are in no hurry to tie the knot and may even expand their family before getting married.
When asked about including their dogs in the wedding, Cuoco laughed, explaining that they haven’t started any planning yet and joked, “maybe another kid will have to come first.” “We plan to go way out of order,” said the Big Bang Theory star, who has a one-year-old daughter, Matilda, with Pelphrey.

Cuoco added humorously, “I have four dogs now, and a baby, and a Tom — it’s a lot,” referencing her fiancé, to whom she has been engaged since August. When it comes to enjoying her time as a fiancée, the actress firmly replied, “Yes.”
Cuoco compared the incessant questions about wedding plans to the inquiries she received after the birth of Matilda. “The minute I had my baby, they asked, ‘When’s your second one?’ I’m like, ‘Oh my God, is anyone gonna just let me enjoy this?’”
Her daughter has been quite the handful, as Cuoco described. “She is running around. She is screaming. She eats everything. She loves being outside. She adores her dad,” the Emmy nominee said of the active toddler. “She’s a bit of a tomboy, loving airplanes, monster trucks, helicopters—anything in the sky fascinates her.”
“She loves horses, which is great,” she added. Cuoco announced her engagement to Pelphrey on Instagram Stories on August 15, showcasing her new ring in a selfie. “Amazing weekend,” she captioned the photo.
This news follows more than two years after she publicly confirmed her relationship with the Ozark actor in May 2022 via Instagram. Cuoco later told USA Today that the couple was introduced by their mutual manager, Andrea Pett-Joseph, who believed they would be “perfect for each other.”
When they met in person at the Ozark premiere, Cuoco felt an immediate connection. “I heard his voice, turned around, and it was like my life was over or just starting. It hit me.
It was love at first sight,” she recalled. “We were immediately connected. I feel like I’ve known him my whole life, but I wasn’t ready for him.” She concluded by saying, “We’re ready to build a life together.”
