Chris Martin recently made a surprising appearance in Las Vegas! During a couple’s wedding photo session at the Tunnel of Love, the Coldplay frontman, aged 47, delighted attendees by showing up in an unexpected disguise.
Taking a break from the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival, Martin decided to spread some joy by handing out balloons. His outfit included a baggy brown suit, a yellow shirt, and a blue tie, completed with chunky sneakers and thick-framed glasses. To further transform his look, he donned a bright red wig, making it difficult for anyone to recognize him.
While Mary Zatezalo and Austin Sanders from Phoenix were capturing their wedding memories, Martin approached them, offering red balloons. The trio chatted for a while and then snapped cheerful photos together, balloons in hand. PEOPLE attempted to reach out to Zatezalo for her thoughts but did not get an immediate response.
Martin’s night in Las Vegas continued as he later visited Dino’s, a local dive bar, where he performed “All My Love” for a karaoke segment intended for a music video related to their upcoming album. According to Billboard, he kept the mismatched suit on while holding the balloons during his performance, as seen in a fan video shared on YouTube.
On September 22, the bar’s Instagram account thanked Martin for choosing them to record his music video, calling it a “SUCH A VIRAL MOMENT” and “the BIGGEST SURPRISE OF THE YEAR.” The post also wished him good luck with his new album and expressed hopes for future visits.
Although “All My Love” has not yet been released, Coldplay recently surprised a couple by providing them with a studio version of the song for their first dance at their wedding.
Superfans Paul and Céline Delcloy revealed to PEOPLE that the song holds special meaning for them, prompting them to contact Coldplay’s manager, Phil Harvey, on X (formerly Twitter) to make a request for their wedding. The band came through, delivering the song and adding an unforgettable touch to the Delcloys’ special day.
In the lead-up to their upcoming album, Moon Music, Coldplay has already dropped two singles: “Feels Like I’m Falling in Love” and “We Pray,” featuring artists like Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna, and Tini. The highly anticipated 10th studio album is set for release on October 4.
