Octomom Nadya Suleman Welcomes First Grandchild: A Celebration of Love

American Media Personality, Octomom Nadya Suleman

Nadya Suleman has taken on the role of grandmother! On September 22, the woman famously known as “Octomom,” after becoming the first to successfully deliver octuplets in 2009, announced via Instagram that one of her sons has welcomed a baby girl into the family.

The 49-year-old shared a touching photo that captured the newborn’s tiny foot peeking out from beneath a soft pink blanket. While she did not disclose which of her ten sons is the father, Suleman, a mother of 14, expressed her heartfelt joy: “Thank you to my son and my wonderful daughter-in-law for this beautiful gift! We feel so blessed to welcome her into our family!”

In her post, Suleman shared her excitement, saying, “Baby girl, you are so very loved!” as she welcomed her granddaughter into the family

In her post, she added, “Baby girl, you are so very loved! We can’t wait to see you grow!! Born on 8/30/24 🙏🏽❤️,” indicating the little one arrived on August 30. Suleman was already the proud mother of six—Amerah, Calyssa, Elijah, Caleb, Joshua, and Aidan—when she gave birth to her octuplets, Noah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Josiah, Makai, Maliyah, and Nariyah, 15 years ago.

Although she stepped back from the public eye in 2013, Suleman remains active on social media, sharing family milestones. Recently, she posted nostalgic childhood photos of her son Joshua to celebrate his 21st birthday, hinting that he might be the new dad. “I am so proud of the man you are becoming. You are smart, funny, hardworking, loyal, humble, and now a devoted husband and soon-to-be father,” she remarked.

Earlier this year, she also shared joyful moments from her birthday celebration on July 11, where her children sang “Happy Birthday” before she blew out the candles on her cake. “Thank you, kids, for making my birthday so special! I love you all ❤️,” she expressed on July 13.

On January 27, she commemorated her octuplets’ 15th birthday with a cherished throwback photo, proclaiming her pride in their growth: “I am so proud of the young adults you are becoming!”

When Suleman gave birth to her octuplets, she was facing unemployment and sought various ways to provide for her large family, including nude modeling, adult films, boxing, and attempts to trademark her “Octomom” persona.

In a 2016 interview with PEOPLE, she reflected on her choice to distance herself from the “Octomom” persona, stating, “I never truly wanted that life from the beginning.” She elaborated, “I found myself compromising my values and boundaries. At the time, I was in survival mode, doing whatever it took to support my children.”

A turning point came when she noticed her eldest daughter, Ameerah, starting to adopt her traits. “Watching her go down a potentially harmful path made me realize I would choose to be homeless in my van with all 14 kids over continuing on that trajectory. That was not the future I envisioned for my children,” Suleman concluded.
