Joy-Anna Forsyth (née Duggar) has shared exciting news about her family’s upcoming relocation. On Tuesday, September 24, the 26-year-old former 19 Kids and Counting star posted a photo on Instagram featuring herself, her husband Austin Forsyth, and their three children, Gideon, Evelyn, and Gunner, standing in the empty kitchen of their former home. She also included a nostalgic image of herself and Austin, 30, on the porch with baby Gideon, who is now 6 years old.
In the post’s caption, she exclaimed, “WE ARE MOVING.” Joy noted that this photo marks their last family picture in a home they’ve lived in for nearly five years. “We’re a sweaty mess after moving but this picture starts a new adventure! We are so excited to see what the next few years hold. Swipe to see our family picture when we first moved here!”

Earlier in August, Joy and Austin listed their three-bedroom, three-bathroom house in Fayetteville, Arkansas, for $369,000, and it is now pending sale, as confirmed by In Touch via Realtor.com. Fans expressed their enthusiasm and curiosity about the move in the comments section of Joy’s post.
“Exciting! Congratulations! Will you be showing the new home?” one follower asked. Another inquired, “Where did you guys move to?! Congratulations!” A third fan expressed, “I am so happy for y’all! Are y’all getting a bigger house in Arkansas or moving out of state?”
In a follow-up video on her Instagram Stories, Joy elaborated on their reasons for the move. “We have always dreamed of living on some land, having room for the kids to roam, having a farm, all of that.
And the next right step for us was to move, and so we ended up moving two weeks ago,” she shared. “We are in a rental for a while, but God answered so many prayers just for the rental we were looking for and the area we wanted. We had been searching for about four or five months every day. This one kind of fell into our laps.”
Joy added, “I’ll have to give you guys a house tour soon. But we are already settled in this house. The moving process went so well, and with help from friends and family, we were able to get everything out of our old home in about three or four hours. By the end of the first day, our new house felt like home already.”
While most of Joy’s family resides in Arkansas, her sister Jinger Vuolo (née Duggar) and her husband Jeremy moved from Texas to California in 2019. After a visit to Jinger in Los Angeles last January, Joy reflected on the possibility of moving to California to be nearer to her sister, brother-in-law, and their daughters, Felicity and Evangeline.
“It’s funny because when we visited Jinger and Jeremy, they joked that Jeremy would try to convince Austin that L.A. isn’t so bad,” Joy recounted during a YouTube Q&A on January 27. “This was the first trip where I thought, ‘I could see us living here if that’s where God moved us,’ even though I don’t think we would ever actually move there.”
She continued, “It was wonderful to spend quality time with her and catch up on life. However, I’m not sure we would ever make the move. They have a fantastic community, and everyone in their neighborhood is incredibly nice. We enjoyed our trip and will cherish vacations there, but I doubt we’ll actually relocate.”
