Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Feel ‘Vindicated’ in the Midst of ABC Talent Controversy

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Unlikely to Return to GMA3 Despite ABC's Challenges

A talent-recruitment crisis is reportedly unfolding at ABC, creating a situation that former GMA3: What You Need to Know hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes find quite favorable. An insider shared with In Touch that the network may have erred significantly by letting T.J. and Amy go, stating that they feel vindicated and believe it’s karma catching up to their former bosses.

The former cohosts initially gained attention in November 2022 when news of their romantic involvement emerged, especially since both were married at that time, leading many to assume infidelity. However, Amy and T.J. maintained that they had separated from their spouses, Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig (who are now in a relationship together), prior to their affair.

Insider Suggests ABC Made a Mistake Letting Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Go

After reports surfaced earlier this month indicating that ABC lacks promising candidates to succeed popular anchors like Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan, it appears that firing Amy and T.J. on January 27, 2023, may have been a poor decision.

According to the source, “T.J. and Amy had star power, and the network has found no worthy replacements,” which adds pressure on existing anchors like Robin and George. Keeping a close eye on the ongoing drama, T.J. and Amy are reportedly discussing who might resign or be let go next, feeling fortunate that they exited before the situation deteriorated further.

More than a year after their affair was exposed, Amy candidly admitted she had “zero f–ks” to give during the intense fallout, emphasizing that she understands what it means to traverse “through some darkness” and emerge on “the other side” when faced with the worst circumstances. In the June 2 episode of their podcast, she remarked, “I’ve thought I’ve hit rock bottom before, and then I actually hit rock bottom.”

T.J. also shared his perspective on the scandal, describing their newfound lives as both “weird” and “freeing,” asserting that he is now “finally where [he] is supposed to be.” Earlier this year, he addressed the possibility of returning to Good Morning America, discussing the complexities of such a scenario with Amy during the February 15 podcast episode.

“There’s a lot of ifs in there, and does that include working with you?” he asked, highlighting the uncertainty of working with those who remain at the network.complexities of such a scenario with Amy during the February 15 podcast episode. “There’s a lot of ifs in there, and does that include working with you?” he asked, highlighting the unccomplexities of such a scenario with Amy d

He further noted that he “can’t see a path” leading him back to GMA3, even if both were offered their previous roles again. “Obviously nobody over there is thinking about us coming back,” he speculated, “but I couldn’t set up a scenario that actually makes sense.”
