Sharing her beauty secrets with the younger generation has become a joyful endeavor for Sarah Michelle Gellar. In a conversation with PEOPLE regarding her collaboration with Philosophy, the 47-year-old Buffy the Vampire Slayer star revealed that she and her 15-year-old daughter, Charlotte, have been exchanging beauty tips as Charlotte matures.
Recalling a recent birthday celebration, Gellar said, “It was her birthday, and she had a sleepover, so all of her friends were in my bathroom while we’re painting our house.” She enjoyed the lively atmosphere, noting, “It was fun because we were all sharing tips back and forth.

I learned from them, and they learned from me. Sometimes Charlotte will say, ‘Oh mom, no one does that anymore,’ but then her friends will chime in, ‘Well, actually, that’s really good.’” Gellar added with a smile, “I get some street cred from her friends.”
While she cherishes her daughter’s growth, Gellar humorously confessed that it’s “horrifying” to see Charlotte enter her teenage years. “I think I should be a teenage girl,” she joked. Alongside Charlotte, Gellar shares a son, Rocky, 12, with her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr.
To mark Charlotte’s 15th birthday in September, Gellar posted a rare video of her daughter displaying her impressive gymnastics abilities. In the clip shared on Instagram, Charlotte executed a cartwheel followed by a back somersault on an inflatable mat in the family’s backyard.
Gellar celebrated her daughter’s milestone with a heartfelt caption: “We are all jumping and flipping Charlotte because it’s your 15 Birthday!! I don’t know how it’s possible, but every year I love you more,” accompanied by the tune of Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday.”
