Cheryl Hines and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. were recently seen together for the first time since rumors surfaced regarding his alleged affair with New York magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi.
On Saturday, October 5, Hines, 59, and Kennedy, 70, were photographed in Malibu, California, as reported by Page Six. The couple was spotted making a stop at Starbucks, with Kennedy behind the wheel and Hines seated beside him in the passenger seat.
Hines was later seen outside the car wearing casual attire—a dark blue T-shirt, jeans, and black sunglasses—noticeably without her wedding ring. Their outing followed Hines’ return to the United States after spending time in Europe, which came after allegations of Kennedy’s involvement with Nuzzi, 31, surfaced.
The news of Kennedy’s alleged affair broke on September 19 when New York magazine released a statement explaining that Nuzzi, their Washington correspondent, had been placed on leave. She had reportedly informed the editors that she had a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign.
In a later statement shared with PEOPLE, Nuzzi acknowledged that her interactions with a former interview subject had become personal. However, she clarified that she did not use the individual as a source nor report on them during the time of their relationship.
A source told PEOPLE that communication between Hines and Kennedy had seriously diminished since the allegations emerged. The insider shared, “[Hines] is embarrassed because he got caught.”
While in Europe, Hines stayed occupied by attending several Paris and Milan Fashion Week shows with her daughter, Catherine Young. She also supported Kennedy’s daughter Kyra, who walked in the Gucci fashion show.
On September 21, Hines celebrated her birthday and posted a heartfelt message on her Instagram Stories, featuring pictures of her with Catherine, 20, and Kyra, 29, writing, “Me & my girls.” Hines has yet to make any public comments regarding her husband’s alleged affair.
