The arrival of fatherhood has improved A$AP Rocky’s outlook on life. In a cover story with W Magazine on Tuesday, Oct. 8, the 35-year-old rapper shared how parenting his sons, RZA, 2, and Riot Rose, 14 months, with his longtime partner Rihanna, 36, has transformed his perspective. “That s— changed my swag,” he remarked, humorously admitting, “I’m such a dad, it’s f—ing hilarious.”
Rocky elaborated on his new routine as a father of two, stating, “I haven’t been in the gym in weeks. I come home, my kids are already in bed, asleep. I leave, they’re still asleep. But the sacrifices we make to put out something substantial…”
Emphasizing the impact of parenthood, he noted, “Once you’re a parent, you just embody that, no matter what.” Regarding how he and Rihanna manage their parenting responsibilities, Rocky explained, “I think we both have our niches, our things that we do that we’re good at.”
He added with a smile, “She could never be a great dad because she’s a great mom. And I could never be a great mom because I’m the greatest dad in the whole wide world.” Earlier in the conversation, Rocky discussed the personality traits of his sons, mentioning which one resembles him more and which one takes after Rihanna.
“I think RZA is going to keep to himself. He’s an introvert,” he shared. “Riot’s an extrovert — he’s just like his mom.” Continuing, he said, “RZA is more so like his dad, like me. He’s my twin.”
Although RZA is often described as Rocky’s mini-me, he playfully noted, “He got his mom’s forehead. I love my boy’s big forehead! I loved it on his mother.” He concluded, “But he got everything else from me.” Rocky also revealed that Riot and RZA have already formed a special bond, stating, “Riot looks up to RZA. I think RZA’s warming up to Riot.”
