Billie Eilish has expressed regret over sharing details about her romantic life with the public. In a conversation with Vogue, the singer reflected on the challenges of dating while managing the pressures of fame and growing up in the limelight.
She admitted she wishes her personal life, especially her se*xuality and relationships, had remained private, stating, “I wish no one knew anything about my se*xuality or who I’m dating. And I hope that stays true going forward.” She vowed not to discuss these aspects of her life anymore.
Eilish acknowledged that her candidness in past interviews led to widespread media coverage, something she hadn’t fully anticipated. “I forget sometimes that things I say can turn into major headlines,” she added with a sigh.
Living under constant public scrutiny feels unnatural to her. “We’re all just young people trying to figure ourselves out,” she reflected.
In December 2023, she identified as queer during an interview with Variety, expressing her admiration for women’s beauty. However, at Variety’s Hitmakers Brunch, she clarified that it wasn’t intended as a coming-out moment, remarking, “I thought it was obvious.”
Eilish has also had public relationships, including her recent one with musician Jesse Rutherford, with whom she remains friends. Joking with Rolling Stone, she said she doesn’t plan on dating soon unless someone truly special comes along.
