Dierks Bentley’s children, Evalyn Day, Jordan Catherine, and Knox, have seriously influenced his music career. In 2005, he tied the knot with his high school sweetheart, Cassidy Bentley, and they welcomed their first two daughters, Evalyn and Jordan, in 2008 and 2010. Their son Knox followed in 2013.
Reflecting on parenthood, Dierks shared, “One kid changes your whole life. Two is crazy. [With] three, you already know what to do, so you don’t stress the little things so much,” during a conversation with PEOPLE.
Despite the close bond he shares with his kids, Dierks humorously noted that he and Cassidy have “absolutely not” considered having more children, joking, “I’m already going to be about 58 before Cass and I get any alone time!”

After establishing their family life in Nashville, the couple chose to relocate to Colorado, where they found a more peaceful environment that allowed them to prioritize family.
Dierks commented, “I’m making up for lost time with my family,” explaining how years of touring took him away from home. He now enjoys biking with his children to school and taking them camping almost every weekend.
Though they’ve since moved back to Nashville, the Bentleys still own a home in the Colorado mountains. Dierks expressed his desire for his children to grow up to be compassionate and environmentally conscious individuals.

Evalyn “Evie” Day Bentley, born in October 2008, is a budding performer with a flair for theater and a remarkable singing talent. Her vocals can be heard on some of her father’s hit songs, such as “Different for Girls” and “Thinking of You.”
Dierks praised Evalyn’s talents during an appearance on Good Morning America in 2021, noting, “Evie has a great natural voice and she loves theater.” The duo has often performed together, making Evalyn a beloved surprise guest among fans.
“It’s a gift to get a chance to play music together on stage,” Dierks shared. “It’s just so fun to look over there and see your daughter sing along in front of 10, 15, 20,000 people. It’s ridiculous.”
When it comes to her musical future, Dierks believes they should enjoy the journey. “It’s all fun right now. We’ll see if it goes somewhere, but she definitely has a much better voice than I do,” he added.
Recently, Dierks shifted from music to teaching, taking Evalyn for a driving lesson in their neighborhood, which he proudly shared on Instagram. “Now look both ways,” he advised, pulling a funny face. “Yeah, you gotta turn the wheel to make the car go the way you want it to go.”
Evalyn made her first red carpet appearance at the 2018 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony. Jordan “JJ” Catherine was born on December 25, 2010. She is named in honor of Dierks’ best friend, who passed away from complications related to cystic fibrosis in 2009. In a heartfelt birthday message, Dierks wrote, “I know he is looking down and loving watching you take on life with the zest that you do.”
Dierks described Jordan as having a “fierce loving creative kind spirit,” which has propelled her budding interests in theater and dance. He is quick to acknowledge her wisdom beyond her years, crediting her with inspiring his song “I Get To,” which stemmed from a conversation during a school drop-off.
“I was dropping her off at school one day, and I was like, ‘Yeah, I gotta go write songs after I drop you off.’ She’s like, ‘You mean you get to write songs today.’ And the song I wrote that day was called ‘I Get To,’ ” he shared during a 2019 press event.
Dierks and Jordan share memorable moments, including a humorous bra-shopping trip, which he captured in a funny TikTok where he joked, “Call mom.” Knox, the youngest Bentley child, was born on October 9, 2013, in Nashville. Dierks explained that he and Cassidy chose the name because it was simple and reminiscent of their own names.
Unlike his sisters, Knox is more focused on sports, participating in a travel hockey team and even co-hosting the 2023 NHL awards with Dierks. “Hockey plays a big part of my daily life,” Dierks said. “I’ve been to rinks all over the country with my travel hockey son. I coach his spring league games and spend hours in the local hockey store, telling him, ‘No, you do not need a new stick!’”
In an interview with NHL’s Tracey Myers, Dierks revealed Knox’s enthusiasm for meeting hockey players and his mixed loyalty to both the Predators and Oilers. “If we’re not watching on TV, he’s playing it, he’s [watching] YouTube clips, always watching highlights of this or that,” he shared.
Knox made his performance debut in the music video for Dierks’ single “Living” in 2019. Dierks described the experience as a chance for them to bond while showcasing their everyday lives. “It’s basically just me and Knox, just a day in the life,” he explained. “The two of us, just doing what we’re doing when we’re off the road, which is a lot. We pack a lot into one every day.”
