Rihanna has once again made a bold fashion statement, this time turning heads in a revealing bodysuit. She attended the Savage X Fenty event on October 10 at Nordstrom Century City in Los Angeles, celebrating the launch of her Lavish Lace collection. Staying true to the Fenty aesthetic, Rihanna embraced the barely-there trend, showcasing her line in full force.
The star completed her striking ensemble with a vintage Fendi curly lamb fur shaggy coat and paired it with $1,750 Saint Laurent Liz Mules in chocolate brown satin and rhinestones. Her footwear and coat gave a nostalgic nod to the popular mule styles and fashion trends from the 90s and early 2000s.
The 36-year-old artist had introduced the Lavish Lace collection in September, and the event was her way of celebrating the release in style. During the event, she spoke with People about the inspiration behind the collection, emphasizing how she aimed to integrate lace into everyday life.
She explained that lace is traditionally associated with special occasions and visibility but wanted to transform it into something cozy and casual. “I wanted lace to be part of everyday wear—whether it’s visible or hidden under jeans and T-shirts,” she shared.
Rihanna also reflected on her views about wearing lingerie as outerwear, a concept she has championed, particularly through her maternity fashion. According to her, lingerie should be worn however one chooses—whether it’s layered under clothes, worn with a loose jacket, or styled for comfort and support.
She added that small self-care rituals, such as removing makeup at night, are meaningful to her, as they represent moments of comfort. As a mother to Rza, 2, and Riot, 1, Rihanna admitted that motherhood has shifted her fashion priorities.
She now leans towards outfits that are cozy, stretchy, and practical—clothes that allow her to easily move and pick up her children. “Those are the things that guide my choices now,” she concluded.
