During Solo Appearance, Meghan Markle Opens Up About Being “One of the Most Bullied People”

Markle’s thoughtful outfit complements the meaningful discussions on digital well-being at Girls Inc.

Meghan Markle shared her experiences with online bullying during a solo appearance to commemorate the International Day of the Girl. On October 2, the Duchess of Sussex made a surprise visit to Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara, where she participated in the launch of a new digital wellness initiative called Social Media U.

This program is part of a recent collaboration with #HalfHerStory, a nonprofit aimed at enhancing teens’ relationships with technology, with aspirations to expand the program nationwide.

In a recent Vanity Fair article published on October 11, Larissa May, founder of #HalfHerStory, provided royal fans with details about Markle’s remarks during her visit.

“We engaged in an activity where we discussed various scenarios, and Meghan spoke about being one of the most bullied people in the world,” May revealed to the publication. “We had girls wave these little emoji signs and discuss how each scenario would emotionally affect them,” she added.

As previously noted by Marie Claire, Markle’s outfit during the afternoon included a blue button-up shirt from J. Crew featuring a contrasting white collar, part of the brand’s collaboration with French designer Marie Marot. To complete the stylish look, the Duchess paired the chic top with wide-leg white trousers secured with a brown leather belt.
