The challenges of screen time are familiar to all parents, and it seems the Royal Family grapples with similar issues regarding what to watch, albeit in a more elegant setting. During a BAFTA event in London on October 9, Prince William shared that he encounters a typical parenting hurdle with his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
While engaging with Erik Scott, a National Film and TV School student involved in the upcoming Film Africa festival, he noted that his kids are “always wrestling over the remote” due to the multitude of shows available today.
William recalls that while George, Charlotte, and Louis love films, they’re still growing into it
William has previously discussed how he navigates his children’s screen time. In January 2022, during another BAFTA visit, he specifically mentioned Prince George’s keen interest in gaming. “They’re fascinated by it,” he remarked about his children’s relationship with technology, revealing that he and Princess Kate are trying to “regulate” their children’s screen use—a challenge many parents face.
At the time, Charlotte, who was 9, and Louis, who was 6, were still quite young. William mentioned that while they enjoyed films, they were “a bit too small at the moment.”
Recently, fans were treated to a glimpse of the Wales family home during the Euros finals this summer, featuring a heartwarming photo of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in personalized England jerseys while watching the match. Meanwhile, their older brother George cheered the team on in person with their father.
Although George, Charlotte, and Louis have mostly stayed out of the public eye, they occasionally make royal appearances, such as during Trooping the Colour or King Charles’s coronation. However, they recently took center stage in a video update from their mother, Kate, on September 9, which offered a rare look into their relaxed life in the countryside.
