In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar U.K., she shared her deep bond with her cat Yoyo and discussed how this relationship has shaped her views on romantic love.
“My affection for my cat is unique,” the Black Panther actress stated. “If I’m fortunate enough to be in a romantic relationship again, it will be due to him. I was ready to close that chapter completely. He has kept my heart open.” Nyong’o adopted Yoyo following “a particularly painful breakup,” likely referring to her split from Selema Masekela.
