A recent viral clip has prompted Anne Hathaway to apologize to a reporter for what she described as an “awful” interview from 2012. Kjersti Flaa, the reporter in question, shared a video over the weekend reminiscing about her interviews with the Les Misérables cast, including Hugh Jackman, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, Samantha Barks, Russell Crowe, and Hathaway herself.
During these interviews, Flaa took a unique approach by singing her questions, asking the actors to respond in song, which elicited varied reactions. Most of the cast members participated, but Hathaway opted out, responding with brief answers throughout the session.
Flaa’s video sparked a conversation online, with viewers divided; some criticized Hathaway for being rude, while others praised her for maintaining her boundaries. On Wednesday, Flaa revealed in a new video that Hathaway had contacted her to mend fences.
“I received an email from Anne Hathaway’s publicist, who forwarded me a message from Anne herself,” the journalist shared. “I was genuinely shocked; I never thought she would see the video, let alone reach out. But she did something quite remarkable.”
Flaa elaborated, stating, “She sent me a lengthy email explaining her state of mind during the interview and apologized for the less-than-stellar interaction. It was incredibly touching.”
