Nikki Glaser has had to prioritize her comedy career, which has affected her relationship with Chris Convy. Throughout the years, the couple has worked to balance their personal ambitions while supporting each other’s dreams.
Chris Convy, hailing from St. Louis, works as a producer, focusing on both studio and live events as well as shows. Their paths first crossed in 2013 while filming Nikki’s short-lived MTV series, Nikki & Sara. Shortly after becoming acquainted, Nikki and Chris began dating.
Reflecting on their initial meeting, the FBoy Island host shared with Graham Bensinger in October 2022, “We met in New York, and I was working on my first TV show for MTV. He was a producer for that show, and we both came from St. Louis.”
Nikki confessed that while she found Chris attractive, she thought he was “too fun” to be sober. At the time, she had just completed a year of sobriety and was hesitant to date someone who drank regularly. “I had a crush on him from a distance, which was exhilarating because I was constantly longing for him.
It felt like a Jim and Pam situation from The Office, where I was Jim, and he had no clue.” Their relationship, however, has not been without challenges as they faced various obstacles along their journey.
During the interview, Nikki admitted, “I have a fear of commitment. I didn’t realize I had that fear. I used to chase after guys and wonder why no one wanted to commit to me, but the issue was with me.” She also described herself as a “weirdo,” expressing a desire for her boyfriend to be open to the idea of dating other women, even casually.
“I want to be on HBO Max because I think it’s a great platform,” she explained. “I want my show featured on something prestigious and desirable. I wouldn’t mind if he had a fling with someone else, as long as it’s not an emotional attachment. I don’t care if she’s more attractive or looks different than me.”
In addition to Nikki & Sara, Chris also served as a producer for Nikki’s 2016 series, Not Safe With Nikki Glaser. Nikki recalled, “I always told people that the show would eventually get canceled.
Many thought I was being negative, but I wasn’t trying to be disheartening. I was realistic about it. I was prepared for it to end, much like I was ready for my relationship to not last. Most TV shows and relationships don’t endure, which helps cushion the blow when things come to an end.”
