Michael Jackson Claimed to Be a Virgin at 35 When He Started Dating Lisa Marie Presley

Presley recalls Jackson urging her to leave Keough before they married just 20 days after her divorce

A posthumous memoir by Lisa Marie Presley, co-authored with her daughter, Riley Keough, reveals many previously unknown aspects of her life. Titled From Here to the Great Unknown, the book serves as a tribute from Keough, offering insights into Presley’s experiences in the spotlight.

Compiled from recordings that Presley left behind, the memoir includes a startling revelation where she mentions that Michael Jackson told her he was “still a virgin” when they began their relationship, according to Page Six.

The memoir reveals how Jackson described these relationships as non-physical despite public speculation

At the time of Jackson’s proposal, Presley was still married to Danny Keough. The pop star frequently encouraged her to leave her husband and marry him instead. Presley recounted, “Michael was calling. Was I leaving Danny or not?” Keough ended their marriage, prompting Presley to share, “He told me he was still a virgin.

I think he had kissed Tatum O’Neal, and he had a thing with Brooke Shields, which hadn’t been physical apart from a kiss. He said Madonna had tried to hook up with him once, too, but nothing happened.”

Readers expressed shock at this revelation as Presley opened up about her fear of making the wrong decisions in her personal life. Following her admission of Jackson’s interest, Danny chose to leave Presley. Their intense love affair culminated in marriage in 1994, just 20 days after her divorce.

Reflecting on her time with Jackson, Presley described how he took the lead in their relationship, stating, “When he decided to first kiss me, he just did it. He was instigating everything. The physical stuff started happening, which I was shocked at.

I had thought that maybe we wouldn’t do anything until we got married, but he said, ‘I’m not waiting!’” She expressed that she was in love and had never felt as happy as she did during their time together, saying, “I’ve never been that happy again,” as she reminisced about the joyous moments.

Despite her eventual feelings, Presley initially had reservations when Jackson first reached out. She noted, “I just thought that he was lonely and needed a friend. But he was pursuing me.” After Presley’s passing last year at the age of 54 due to cardiac arrest, the memoir remained unfinished. Taking the lead to complete it, Riley incorporated her memories to honor her mother’s legacy.

Riley shared with AP News that completing the book felt like a necessary obligation. “It just felt like a kind of a duty that I had to complete for her. I’m just happy that it’s done and that it’ll be in the world and there for people to read.” She reflected on the fond memories she had with her mother, vowing to keep those moments alive in her heart.
