Veteran producer Anne Carey has been appointed as the president of film and TV at Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ Purple Pebble Pictures. In 2020, Variety revealed that Purple Pebble Pictures, which has produced acclaimed projects like the Academy Award-nominated films “The White Tiger” and “To Kill a Tiger,” secured a first-look TV deal with Amazon MGM Studios.
This agreement has since been both extended and expanded to encompass film and television. Under Carey’s leadership, the company seeks to enhance its reach and creative output.

Carey brings extensive experience as an independent film and television producer, with a strong background in development, often working from literary sources and collaborating with award-winning filmmakers.

Prior to joining Purple Pebble Pictures, Carey was a partner and president of production at Archer Gray. While at the independent media and venture company, she produced Marielle Heller’s “Nightbitch,” featuring Amy Adams, which premiered internationally at the Toronto International Film Festival and is set for release by Fox Searchlight later this year.

Carey’s tenure at Archer Gray included the production of the Amazon series “Dead Ringers,” which features a script by Alice Birch and stars Rachel Weisz. She also played a key role in creating “The Persian Version,” written and directed by Maryam Keshavarz, a film that won the audience award for U.S. dramatic competition at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival before being picked up for distribution by Sony Pictures Classics.
Her impressive body of work encompasses acclaimed films such as “Lost Girls,” directed by Liz Garbus; “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” from Heller; and “20th Century Women,” which Mills both wrote and directed.
Other projects include “The Diary of a Teenage Girl,” directed by Heller, and “Mr. Holmes,” under the direction of Bill Condon. Prior to her time at Archer Gray, Carey worked on films like “The Savages,” directed by Tamara Jenkins, “Adventureland” by Greg Mottola, and Anton Corbijn’s “The American,” reflecting her dedication to powerful narratives and diverse storytelling.
