Enjoying precious moments before the arrival of their second child, Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney were recently spotted together. Following the announcement of their pregnancy on Sunday, October 20, the Oscar-winning actress, 34, and her husband, 40, who is an art gallery director, enjoyed a lunch outing in Los Angeles, as captured in photos shared by DeuxMoi.
Displaying her baby bump, Lawrence wore a loose-fitting yellow button-up shirt paired with baggy black trousers, while Maroney opted for a casual look in a white T-shirt and black pants. As they strolled through the city, the expectant couple openly showed affection, holding hands and sharing kisses.
Earlier that day, Lawrence and Maroney confirmed their exciting news to Vogue, revealing they are expecting their second child. Since tying the knot in October 2019, the couple has been parents to a 2-year-old son named Cy, born in February 2022.
They are known for being quite private regarding Cy, rarely discussing him in public. However, in a Vogue cover story from 2022, Lawrence humorously compared her son to a voodoo doll, explaining that his pain affects her deeply.
Describing the joy Cy brings, she said, “The euphoria of Cy is just— Jesus, it’s impossible,” reflecting on her feelings when he was just a few months old. During a conversation with fellow actress Cameron Diaz for Interview Magazine last June, Lawrence candidly discussed how motherhood has shaped her perspective on paparazzi.
After Diaz, 52, commended her for successfully protecting her child, Lawrence responded, “I do my best.” She recalled feeling anxious during her pregnancy, worrying about how to handle being photographed while protecting her baby.
However, once Cy arrived, she realized that her emotional state impacts him. “I’ve gotten a little bit more zen and a little bit more relaxed with getting photographed,” she explained, emphasizing the need to accept her reality and approach it with calmness.
“I don’t want him to inherit the anxiety and anger that I have,” she stated. In a rare mention of Maroney during her talk with Diaz, the Hunger Games star affectionately referred to him as “the greatest father in the entire world.”
