Billy Corgan and Chloe Mendel have enjoyed a relationship lasting over a decade. The couple, who are also business partners, first crossed paths through a mutual friend, sparking their romance in 2012. For years, they maintained a low profile, even keeping the births of their two children, Augustus and Philomena, a surprise to fans, arriving in 2015 and 2018, respectively.
After being together for ten years, Corgan proposed on Chloe’s 30th birthday in September 2022, and they exchanged vows at their Highland Park home in September 2023. Corgan revealed their marriage during a celebration for the Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream album anniversary, later sharing the details on Instagram, calling the ceremony “a magical moment.”

Their latest project includes the CW documentary series Billy Corgan’s Adventures in Carnyland, which showcases their family and professional life. Corgan expressed to Screen Rant in May 2024 that opening up about their relationship after twelve years feels remarkable. “It’s interesting to show not just our wedding but also our dynamic,” he shared.
Chloe Mendel is recognized for her work as a clothing designer. Being the daughter of renowned haute couture designer Gilles Mendel, who heads the luxury brand J. Mendel, Chloe followed her family’s fashion legacy. “It’s very much in my DNA,” she remarked to The New York Times in 2017.
She began her fashion journey as an intern at J. Mendel, where she gained experience in designing ready-to-wear and couture pieces. In 2017, she launched her luxury outerwear brand, Maison Atia, specializing in faux furs as the creative director.
After co-designing her wedding dress with her father, the experience inspired them to formalize their collaboration. “It was so much fun that we actually started a company out of it,” Chloe stated in May 2024.
In 2023, they debuted their brand House of Gilles, aiming to replicate the enjoyable experience of designing for each other. “We wanted to provide that for other people,” she explained, adding that they now create bridal and bespoke attire.
As parents, Chloe and Corgan have two children, with another on the way. Their first son, Augustus Juppiter, was born on November 16, 2015, followed by their daughter, Philomena Clementine, on September 27, 2018. After Philomena’s birth, the couple shared a heartfelt Instagram photo of Augustus meeting his sister in the hospital.

In September 2023, Chloe disclosed details of their engagement to Vogue, recalling how Corgan had invited their entire family for a dinner in their garden. During the evening, he presented her with a gift containing three beautiful ring designs, initially interpreted as a birthday surprise. It was only when she saw his emotional expression that she realized the true importance.
Their wedding occurred on September 16, 2023, at their waterfront estate in Highland Park, attended by 100 close friends and family members. Chloe shared that the ceremony emphasized familial intimacy. “We didn’t feel the need to invite all of our rockstar friends; this was our moment,” she explained to PEOPLE.
The couple’s property served as a picturesque backdrop, featuring a rose-wrapped altar where they exchanged vows. Corgan was walked down the aisle by their children, while Chloe’s father, Gilles, escorted her. He designed both her wedding and reception dresses, as well as Corgan’s suit.
Chloe expressed that having her father design her dress was an obvious choice. They drew inspiration from her daughter’s images depicting a Greek goddess, eventually creating a stunning, ethereal gown.
