Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have added “dart champions” to their list of achievements. The Olympic gymnast and Chicago Bears safety had a fun night out, where they showcased their skills with a game of darts, culminating in a precise shot to the bullseye followed by a celebratory routine.
After clinching their victory in darts, the couple, aged 27 and 29, expressed their joy through a unique and “crazy” handshake. This involved a series of playful slaps before finishing the routine with a kiss.
“Send ’em home mad,” Owens posted on his Instagram Stories on October 19, sharing a close-up of the dart that landed in the bullseye. He added, “When you and ya lady are the dart champs,” accompanied by heart and shrugging emojis.
Their love story began in March 2020 when they connected through the exclusive dating app Raya and quickly started dating.
Biles recounted their initial interaction, saying, “He would say I slid into his DMs. I saw him and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s pretty cute,’ so I said hi. Then I noticed he was in the Houston area, and we started chatting a little before hanging out a week or two later.”
Interestingly, Owens didn’t initially recognize Biles. “I just hadn’t heard of her, and when I told her that, that’s one of the things she liked,” he shared with Texas Monthly in June 2021.
Throughout their relationship, both have been pillars of support for one another’s athletic careers. Biles has been present at Owens’ football games, cheering him on during his first NFL start in December 2021 with the Houston Texans.
Conversely, Owens supported Biles at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she secured three gold medals and one silver, further solidifying her status as the most decorated gymnast in history.
After two years of dating, Biles and Owens became engaged in February 2022 and celebrated their wedding in April 2023 with an intimate courthouse ceremony in Texas. They later marked their love with a grand celebration in Mexico with family and friends the following month.
