Jennifer Lawrence is preparing to welcome another child! The No Hard Feelings star, alongside her husband, Cooke Maroney, announced their exciting news through an Instagram post and an article in Vogue on October 20.
In the Instagram caption, Vogue shared, “Congratulations to Jennifer Lawrence! The Oscar-winning actress is expecting her second child with her art gallerist husband, Cooke Maroney.” They confirmed the joyous news through Lawrence’s representatives.
However, PEOPLE did not receive an immediate reply when they sought a comment from her team. Lawrence and Maroney, who tied the knot in October 2019, are already parents to a two-year-old son named Cy, born in February 2022.
In a June 2023 interview with Interview Magazine, the actress discussed how becoming a mother altered her views on handling the paparazzi. When asked by fellow actress Cameron Diaz about her protective measures for her son, Lawrence admitted, “I do my best.” She recounted her worries during pregnancy, expressing her frustration at the intrusive photographers.
After Cy’s arrival, she learned that her emotional state played a vital role in her child’s well-being. “My energy is more important to him than anything else,” she stated, highlighting how her anxiety could affect him.
This understanding led her to adopt a more relaxed approach to being photographed. “I’ve become a little more zen about the whole thing because I don’t have a choice,” she explained. Lawrence also emphasized, “You just have to accept it, take a deep breath, and move on. I want to shield him from any anxiety or anger I may feel.”
Additionally, she praised Maroney as “the greatest father in the entire world,” noting that his support makes her working life more manageable. “When I’m working, I don’t feel more guilt than the usual parent guilt,” she added.
The Hunger Games actress elaborated on the challenges of raising a child while pursuing her career, indicating that her priorities shifted dramatically after Cy was born. “There’s no fitting it all in when you have a baby,” Lawrence said. “It really helps me filter projects: ‘Yes. No. Yes. No. Yes. No. Is this worth being away from my child for half the day?’”
In a 2022 interview with Vogue, she expressed how motherhood transformed her life. “The joy that Cy brings me is indescribable,” she said. “I always tell him, I love you so much that it feels impossible.”
