Co-parenting their three children is a source of pride for Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler. The couple welcomed their first son, Camden, in 2012 and tied the knot the following year.
Jaxon, their second son, was born in 2014, and they completed their family with the arrival of their daughter, Saylor, in 2015. After nearly seven years of marriage and a decade together, Cavallari and Cutler announced their separation in April 2020.
Both have openly discussed their co-parenting approach. In June 2021, Cutler shared with E! News, “It’s good. We’ve done a good job of putting them first.” Similarly, Cavallari reflected on her own upbringing during an interview with Grazia Magazine, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a united front for their children.

“Never put the kids in the middle of it, no matter how mad you are at your ex-spouse. One thing that my mom did was she never said anything bad about my dad,” she noted. “Now that I’m older, I really respect that. I always want my kids to see Jay and me as a united front. He’s their father. That’s important and they need to see that from me.”
In October 2024, Cavallari provided a custody update on her podcast, Let’s Be Honest, sharing her struggles with dating. “I don’t know how much time I have for dating,” she explained. “When I was dating last fall, I was still doing split custody with my ex, and I had every other week off from my kids, and that’s changed.”

Camden Jack, 12
The couple’s first son, Camden Jack, entered the world on August 8, 2012. “We are thrilled to welcome Camden Jack Cutler into the world,” the excited new mom tweeted (now known as X). “He was born this morning weighing 7 lbs., 9 oz. Everyone is doing great!”
Despite her initial reluctance, Cavallari revealed that Cutler ended up witnessing the entire birth. “I was like, ‘You’re going to be behind me. You’re not going to see anything,’ ” she recounted to E!’s Giuliana Rancic in 2013.
However, she noted that the nurses had other plans, and Cutler ended up holding her leg during the delivery. “At that point, I’m like, ‘Whatever.’ So he held my leg — he saw the whole thing,” she shared.
As he has grown, Camden has developed a vibrant personality reminiscent of his reality TV star mom. In December 2022, Cavallari posted an adorable video of them making pasta bolognese together from her cookbook, True Comfort. “This kid kills me,” she captioned the clip of Camden dancing while stirring the pot.
The previous October, Cavallari revealed Camden’s playful side when he borrowed a pair of her white sneakers for school. “So I definitely didn’t think that the first kid to steal shoes from me would be Camden, but here we are,” she remarked alongside a photo of him showing off the shoes.
On his 11th birthday in August 2023, Cavallari expressed her pride in Camden’s growth. “Watching you become the most incredible young man is such a gift. You’re pure love and light and I’m thankful every single day for you,” she wrote on Instagram.
Jaxon Wyatt, 10
Almost two years after Camden’s birth, the couple welcomed their second son, Jaxon Wyatt, on May 7, 2014. “Welcome Jaxon Wyatt Cutler 7 lbs., 11 oz. 5/7/14,” Cavallari announced on Instagram with a photo of her hospital bracelet and baby booties.
“Knowing what to expect the second time around made us feel more prepared,” Cavallari told PEOPLE prior to Jaxon’s birth. “This one, I’m like, ‘Let’s get him out here, I want to see him, I just want to hold him and see what he looks like.’ I’m just really excited more than anything.”
Although the couple separated when Jaxon was young, they remain committed to being present in their children’s lives. A year after their split, Cavallari shared that during her “off weeks” with the kids, she takes them out individually for quality time. On one of Jaxon’s outings, he dressed sharply.
“I’ve been taking one kid at a time on my off weeks for date night and last night was Jaxon’s turn,” she posted on Instagram in April 2021. “This kid kills me- he wore a suit and bow tie with dress shoes and was the best little date I could ask for. He kept me laughing the entire time. Thankful to be able to spend some one-on-one time with my babies.”
In June 2022, Jaxon even expressed his thoughts on his mom’s dating life, which she shared in a humorous Instagram video. “I’m getting dating advice from my boys,” Cavallari said, covering their faces with emojis. Jaxon suggested she should date someone older, explaining, “Young people are crazy.”
Cavallari celebrated Jaxon’s 10th birthday in May 2024 by sharing a nostalgic photo of him as a toddler planting a kiss on her cheek. “Happy birthday to my baby bull, Jaxy!” she wrote. “I love you to the moon, my sweet man.”
Saylor James, 8
The couple’s youngest child, Saylor James, was born on November 23, 2015. “She’s going to steal Jay’s heart, which will in turn melt mine!” Cavallari expressed to American Baby magazine in 2015. “I’m excited for the boys to grow up with a sister. I think it will help them to better understand and respect women.”
In February 2021, Cavallari shared a heartwarming moment with Saylor as they cooked together, cherishing their special time. “Saylor gets out of school an hour before the boys, so we always get to have a little girl time,” she wrote alongside a photo. “It’s the last few months of this before my baby is in kindergarten, so I’m soaking it up. Chocolate chip cookies today with my lil bestie.”
An outstanding milestone for Saylor and Cavallari occurred in April 2022 when they celebrated getting Saylor’s ears pierced. Cavallari proudly announced the news on her Instagram Story, showcasing her daughter’s new diamond studs and noting that she was “a champ” during the process.
On Saylor’s 8th birthday, Cavallari praised her youngest child for her strength and nurturing nature, despite being the baby of the family. “You have the ability to nurture and take care of everyone you love, while also holding your own (especially with your older brothers),” she shared on Instagram in November 2023. “You’re my favorite girl to do life with. I’m the luckiest to be your mama.”
