The celebration of Ava Sambora’s engagement was a heartfelt occasion! On October 19, the 27-year-old daughter of Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora, along with her fiancé Tyler Farrar, marked their engagement at a gathering attended by family and friends. A source shared with PEOPLE that the elegant celebration was a “beautiful day spent celebrating with family and loved ones.”
Inviting around 50 guests, the couple used this special moment to uphold a cherished childhood tradition, hosting a slumber party for Ava’s friends. The source mentioned that Ava’s musician father, Richie, 65, has known her friends since childhood and was delighted to help organize the event.
On October 26, Ava took to Instagram to share some snapshots from the engagement party. In her post, she expressed, “Had the most beautiful night celebrating our engagement! Thank you for being my biggest blessing Tyler William 🤍 #engagedaf,” while tagging Farrar.
The photos revealed Farrar in an all-white suit, while Ava complemented him in a white halter dress adorned with pearl straps. The couple was seen kissing and embracing the festive atmosphere. A white, heart-shaped cake, inscribed with “Engaged AF,” graced the party, and a welcoming sign greeted attendees with: “Welcome to Tyler & Ava’s engagement party! We’re so happy you’re here!”
Back in February, the couple had announced their engagement through a joint Instagram post. “Hard launch!!” they captioned the sweet photos, which captured the moment Farrar proposed to Ava on one knee.
One image showcased Farrar presenting Ava with an engagement ring as they stood lit candles and an arch of white roses by the ocean at sunset. Another photo featured Ava displaying her diamond ring while the newly engaged couple embraced.
Proud mother Locklear, 63, shared her joy in the comments, writing: “My two favorite people💗.” Richie has a close relationship with his daughter. The Bon Jovi guitarist, who stepped away from the band in 2013 to focus on raising Ava, told PEOPLE in November, “Ava is killing it.”
He added, “She’s basically practicing psychology,” revealing that Ava recently earned her master’s degree and is preparing to pursue a doctorate. The musician expressed his happiness for Ava’s academic achievements by surprising her with a retriever puppy.
Ava shares a strong bond with her mother and has been a source of support as Locklear has overcome her struggles with substance abuse. “Ava has a very loving and supportive relationship with her mom,” a source previously told PEOPLE about their connection. “And as painful as it is, she knows that it’s in her mom’s hands and God’s hands. All she can do is, like anybody else, just pray and support.”
