Roxanne Kaiser and Antonio Mattei have officially tied the knot! On Saturday, October 26, the beloved couple exchanged vows at Chateau Elan, situated just outside Atlanta, where they celebrated with a brief American ceremony followed by a traditional Persian wedding.
Reflecting on the importance of the Persian ceremony, Kaiser shared her thoughts with PEOPLE. “I cherish the rich symbolism involved,” she explained. “Every element on the Sofreh Aghd has a meaning related to our new life together as a married couple. For example, our Sofreh Aghd will feature rock candy to symbolize a sweet life, and a large mirror to represent light and brightness in our future.
A particularly special moment involves dipping our pinky fingers in honey and sharing it, which signifies the sweetness of our journey ahead.” Including the Sofreh Aghd was especially meaningful for Kaiser, as her father and sister incorporated it into their weddings as well.
Close to 150 guests were invited to join in the celebration, among them Kelly Chase from the inaugural season of Love is Blind and Mal Wright from The Ultimatum: Queer Love. However, no attendees from their own season were present due to the couple’s lack of contact with the other participants from The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On since the “stressful” reunion event.
Kaiser expressed the importance of having loved ones around during this momentous occasion. “Being surrounded by our friends and family means everything to us,” she stated.
“As everyone gets older and manages their own busy lives—work, kids, families—it’s increasingly difficult to gather everyone together. That’s why I truly appreciate how our wedding provides a reason for everyone to reconnect over an entire weekend. It makes this day incredibly special and meaningful!”
She elaborated, “I’ve never seen a wedding as a fairy tale or a dream realized—that’s just not my style. To me, it’s about uniting the people we love to honor the commitment and bond represented by our vows. It’s a moment to revel in the joy of our marriage.”
Kaiser made her entrance to Daniel Jang’s rendition of “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” For her bridal gown, she chose the “Alix” by Blanche Bridal from The White Magnolia. This exquisite ball gown featured a scooped neckline, side cut-outs on the bustier bodice, and a gentle v-shape at the back.
“My vision was a moody, edgy look inspired by Madonna,” Kaiser detailed. “I never thought I would select a dress with such an extended train or go for a strapless style. I adored the simplicity of the gown combined with its intricate details and beauty.
I knew I wanted to raise the ensemble with platforms and an amazing choker. Honestly, the vision for the custom choker came first, and the dress beautifully matched my vision.”
After exchanging heartfelt handwritten vows, the couple shared a dance to Sam Cooke’s “Nothing Can Change This Love,” a song they admit they’ve danced to “at least 100 times” in their kitchen.
A post-wedding “vineyard dinner” was hosted by Chateau Elan and YES Events, featuring a menu crafted by Executive Chef Frederic Boldron and Banquet Chef James Mundy. Pastry Chef Joebeth Marin created a Raspberry Rosé for dessert.
“It will be an intimate gathering the vines under the stars at sunset,” Kaiser described. “Our theme revolves around a sophisticated neutral palette with soft whites, creams, lush greenery, and light wood tones.
The aesthetic is modern and fresh, exuding a natural elegance that complements the outdoor setting perfectly.” Following their wedding day, the couple has also planned a “post-wedding hangout” because “who doesn’t love chatting about all the wedding tea?” Kaiser remarked.
Despite their apparent differences on the topic of marriage, Kaiser and Mattei got engaged during season 2 of the show. In June, Kaiser told PEOPLE that wedding planning wasn’t a priority for her. Even just “two weeks before the wedding, marriage still wasn’t exactly at the forefront” of her thoughts due to her busy work schedule.
“Honestly, marriage was the last thing on my mind,” she admitted. “I think any entrepreneur would understand that, regardless of beliefs about the institution, wedding planning often takes a backseat when there are numerous pressing responsibilities. This doesn’t diminish my commitment or love for Antonio; it just wasn’t the first thing on my daily agenda.”
When it came to pre-wedding jitters, Kaiser mentioned that Mattei was quick to offer reassurance. “He always responds with, ‘I’m SO excited!’ which I genuinely appreciate,” she said. “It’s straightforward, heartfelt, and he’s not trying to persuade me of anything. His enthusiasm reassures me that nothing has changed for him. He’s fully committed, which helps me feel more relaxed.”
Another recurring theme addressed on The Ultimatum was Kaiser’s request for Mattei to contribute equally to their relationship, especially in financial matters. “Without going into specifics, he has certainly met that expectation in just two short years,” she noted.
“I faced a lot of backlash for this, with comments like, ‘Roxanne, you’re pushing him too hard’ or ‘You’re making him do something he doesn’t want to do.’ Fast forward two years, and Antonio is now a thriving entrepreneur, excelling as a boss and owner, with his Tint World franchise performing exceptionally well.”
She further added, “So much has transformed since filming, both in our individual lives and in our relationship. Antonio and I have made serious progress in enhancing and solidifying what we share.” For them, marriage represents an extension of their existing commitment.
“Even before the title of ‘marriage,’ Antonio and I prioritized each other and committed to improving our lives together. To me, marriage doesn’t change that foundation; rather, it amplifies the seriousness of our relationship,” Kaiser explained.
Mattei echoed this sentiment, stating, “Marriage signifies two individuals pledging a lifelong commitment to always support one another, regardless of the challenges. We will remain honest and encourage each other to make the right choices.
Our goal is to inspire the kind of people we hope our children will admire one day, and to uplift each other when the path forward isn’t clear. It embodies faith in something greater than ourselves, granting me the freedom to shape a new identity that I would have aspired to as a child, with Roxanne by my side.”
Kaiser and Mattei first met at a party she hosted for a mutual friend back in 2013. At that time, Mattei was in a relationship, so their interaction was limited to a brief exchange. “No social media connections, no further conversations—just a single meeting that seemed to make an impact.”
“Fast forward to 2020: Both of us were newly single, and I found myself reminiscing about that one guy from years ago,” Kaiser recounted. “I jokingly reached out to a mutual friend, asking, ‘Who was that one guy at that party?’ After some digging, we exchanged numbers and quickly arranged a group date.”
While their first date went well, they both recognized they weren’t ready for anything serious. Kaiser and Mattei experienced an on-again, off-again dynamic for what felt like ages until they decided to explore the possibility of engagement while filming The Ultimatum.
“Though it may seem effortless to showcase such a personal moment for public scrutiny, it’s no small feat,” Kaiser remarked regarding Mattei’s proposal. “Our love story is unique, and we’ve navigated it all under the public eye.” She emphasized that their time on the show was crucial for their relationship development.
“Going through that experience creates a special bond. As I’ve mentioned before, it’s like intense therapy for months, compelling you to confront what you genuinely desire from your partner, your relationship, and your life.
It held us accountable for the commitments we made to change. In a way, it felt as though we were making public vows—ones that millions witnessed—and we had to follow through with those promises to each other.”
At present, honeymoon plans are on hold. “For now, we’re dedicated to our work, but we’re hoping to sneak in a trip together in the coming months,” Kaiser revealed, noting that they have yet to take a getaway trip together. Italy is at the top of their wish list!
The couple eagerly anticipates married life. Although their future is filled with responsibilities—Kaiser focusing on expanding her new mental wellness venture, Proxy, and Mattei preparing to establish another Tint World location in Atlanta—they have begun discussing timelines for starting a family.
“Honestly, achieving shared goals together feels like an amazing accomplishment—it’s like saying, ‘Wow, look what we’ve done!’” Kaiser expressed. “Antonio and I are definitely aligned in our desire to have kids, and I know that embarking on parenthood will be both a fulfilling and challenging journey for us. Plus, I can’t wait to share plenty of laughter along the way. Antonio’s sense of humor always brings a smile to my face.”
